Ruth Havey states that contract documents are enclosed with letter. These documents which include the working drawings, specifications and agreement with Philip Finelli of District Ornamental Iron Works are no longer with the letter. The letter refers to drawings GD G-3-42A, GD G-3-42B, GD G-3-42C and GD G-3-42D. The contract and specifications are correspondence K:RH 1951.12.07.
Discusses the contract with District Ornamental Iron Works and Philip Finelli to fabricate, finish and set the wrought iron rail for the North Vista. Havey outlines the bids received from 5 companies and that the District Ornamental Iron Works was the best choice. The rail is to be made of Swedish Charcoal Iron from the Swedish-American Steel Corporation, New York, include a wheat motif and finished with an oil treatment.
