Charles-Jean Hallo

Charles-Jean Hallo (known as ALO) (1882–1969) was a French painter, draftsman, illustrator, engraver, and photographer who was born in Lille and died in Senlis. He spent his childhood in Dijon where he attended Saint-Ignace College and then went to the Dijon École des Beaux Arts. He is best known as the creator of tourist posters for private railway companies as well as other advertising material. His characteristic signature is ALO.
