Missouri Botanical Garden

The Missouri Botanical Garden was founded in 1859 by Henry Shaw (1800–1889) as an extension of his estate. It is the second largest and oldest continuing botanical garden in the United States and is also considered a National Historic Landmark. The garden provides 79 acres of horticultural display and is a center for biological research and study.
