Portland, Oregon, USA, 1914–1966 (Publisher, Manufacturer)
Sawyer's, Inc. was founded in Portland, Oregon, in 1914 by Carleton Sawyer and A. R. Specht as a photo-finishing company. They soon began producing postcards and greeting cards. However, they became most famous for their View-Master reels and views, which they began selling in 1939. These allowed costumers to insert disks, or reels, into viewers, and see the photographs in 3-D. They later went on to manufacturer cameras and slide projectors. The company was acquired by General Ainiline & Film in 1966.
