TRANSCRIPTION

Venice. The Molo and Piazzetta San Marco.

The Molo is one of the promenades of Venice, and is the headquarters of the gondoliers. On the Molo stand the columns of St. Mark’s—two handsome pillars, one surmounted by the celebrated bronze statue of the winged lion of St. Mark’s and the other by a statue of St. Lawrence, the patron saint of the city.
