Hayford Peirce’s papers consist almost entirely of photographs, newspaper and magazine clippings, and drawings. This collection of research materials reflects his broad interest in Early Christian and Middle Byzantine art. The majority of the collection are photographs of manuscripts, textiles, sculpture, and other media. Numerous notes and drawings were made directly on photographs.
