As you will see from my letter, I have taken the liberty of giving Volbach your old address in the rue de Lille,67 rue de Lille, the former Hôtel Duret, constructed in 1872–1874 by David de Pénanrun. Beginning in January 1949, the building served as the Parisian headquarters of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. as he wants to write you to find a job for his son.Julian (Giuliano) Volbach, the son of Volbach and Vivyan Praz née Vivyan Leonora Eyles (1909–1984), the English wife of Mario Alcibiade Praz (1896–1982), an Italian author and art historian. She married Volbach in 1948. I thought that by giving that address it would be a way out if you did not want to do anything about it.

We have had a busy Christmas, as always and are delighted that those days are past. Thank you for the Christmas telegrams. No doubt Mildred will write you soon telling you what a pleasure it was to see Elisina.

With all good wishes (and may they come true!)

Affectionately yours
