Commentary
Experimental issue in 512 (and later?) before the introduction of the normal heavyweight series of folles and fractions. Hahn (MIBE 88) cites this coin as “DO (n.a.)” under no. 20a, but as there is no space for the officina in the exergue after the mint mark, it is similar to no. 20b.
