Commentary
As DOC 1:23, no. 23m. This specimen was bought because the pellets by the crescent are clear. As MIBE 87, no. 30, which Hahn (p. 30) considers “a transition to shorter periods of control marks” envisaged by the adding of dots to the old marks that took place between 1 September 517, the beginning of a new lustrum, and the death of Anastasios in July 518.
