Acquisition History
Gift of Philip Grierson, 19 July 1971, from H. A. Cahn, 15 June 1971
Commentary
The coin is a very small, abnormal issue. Grierson believed he saw a cross between the heads of the emperor and empress, but in fact no cross is visible.
MIBEC 99, no. 51a (citing this coin as DO [n.a.]). Hahn does not note a cross between the heads.
