Commentary

Hahn assigns this type to Ravenna, citing only one specimen in Vienna of this variety and three specimens of another variety with I and three dots forming a triangle. Bendall considers it more likely to be south Italian, but see commentary on BZC.1970.36 about the difficulty in attributing Italian gold coins.
