Notes
Galen’s Therapeutics to Glaukon: excerpts of book 1 with interpretations by Stephanus of Athens, book 2 without commentary.
The first image on the film is K.A. de Meyier’s catalogue entry of the ms.(see bibliography).
f.1*r (as it appears to be called on the ms.) has seven lines of text, six of which are rubbed out. The catalogue notes that this was the (first attempt at the) beginning of Galen’s text, “postea deletum”. The next folio (r) has the name of the codex and the entry from Geel’s catalogue (see bibliography).
f.1r incipit: “Ὁτι μὲν οὐ τὴν κοινὴν μόνην ἁπάντων ἀνθρώπων φύσιν ὦ Γλαύκων...”
f.104v desinit: “Τέλος τοῦ πρὸς Γλαύκωνα θεραπευτικοῦ δευτέρου λόγου. Ἐξισώθη κατὰ πάντα τῷ πρωτοτύπῳ.”
