Information for potential authors of articles in Dumbarton Oaks Papers.
Dumbarton Oaks Papers welcomes submissions from authors at any stage in their career located anywhere in the world. We take a broad view of “Byzantium,” both geographically and chronologically, and do not limit ourselves to the political boundaries of the Byzantine Empire. Studies might be based in sources not only in medieval Greek but in other premodern languages, including Arabic, Armenian, Coptic, Ethiopic, Georgian, Latin, Old Church Slavonic, and Syriac. All articles fall into at least one of the following fields and disciplines:
