Bartram and Lewis Evans accompanied Conrad Weiser on a mission from the government of Pennsylvania to the Iroquois, to settle a quarrel between the Indians and the colony of Virginia. Weiser's journal is printed in the set known as Colonial records of Pennsylvania, 1851, v. 4, p. 660-669.

Half-title: 'A brief state of the province of Pennsylvania' - Ornament on t.p. has book. Price beneath imprint, 'one shilling and six-pence.'- With a final advertisement leaf for Lockyer Davis.
