Commentary

The name Bourtzina appears to be a variation of Bourtzaina. The owner of this seal may well be identical to the Eudokia Bourtzaina, identified as the daughter of Samuel Bourtzes and recipient of a property bequeathed to her by her father: see PBW : Eudokia 110.
