Translation

ἐπιγραφὴ δηλώσει κλῆσιν καὶ γένος ....σε... σφραγίζω τοὺς λόγους.

The signature will show the name and family of ....se... (whose) words I seal.

Commentary

Damage to the top portion of the reverse prevents us from reading the owner's name. The inscription as a whole consists of two twelve-syllable verses.

It should be noted that Laurent reconstituted the inscription as follows in his unpublished catalogue of the Shaw collection; although plausible, the first dodecasyllable is metrically incorrect, consisting of two six-syllable hemistichs: δεῖγμα σαφὲς τίνος σφραγίζω τοὺς λόγους, γραφὴ βουλὰς δηλώσει κλῆσιν καὶ γένος.
