Obverse

Bust of Christ set against a nimbus cruciger. He wears a chiton and himation, and offers a blessing with his right hand while holding the book in his left. Sigla on either side: ισχσ : Ἰ(ησοῦ)ς Χ(ριστό)ς. Border of dots.

Reverse

The emperor Nikephoros III standing on a round dais, holding the globus cruciger in his left hand and the labarum with his right. Along the circumference, within a border of dots, a circular inscription beginning with a cross at seven o'clock:

νικηφορ,δ̣ε̣σ̣...οτνιτη

Νικηφόρ(ῳ) δεσ[π(ό)τ(ῃ) τ]ῷ Βοτανιάτῃ
