Commentary
The inscription consists of two twelve syllable verses. The first letter of the reverse is certainly a T. A judge of Chaldia by the name of Nicholas asekretis is attested in 1024: BNJ 3 (1922) 94-95 = Grumel, Regestes no. 827. A similar seal, but from a different boulloterion, is published by Zacos, Seals II, no. 1021; cf. N. Oikonomides, "A propos d'une nouvelle publication de sceaux byzantins," REB 44 (1986) 263-267.
