Obverse

Bust of the Mother of God holding the medallion before her. Sigla on either side: Μ̣Θ̅ : Μ(ήτηρ) Θ(εοῦ). Within concentric borders of dots, a circular inscription beginning at twelve o'clock:

θκ.......σ.δλι

Θ(εοτό)κ[ε βοήθει τῷ] σ[ῷ] δούλῳ Ἰω(άννῃ)

Inscription of four lines. Border of dots.
