Commentary
It is very difficult to date this token, and our reading is very provisional. We have indicated a thirteenth-century date on the basis of the theta on the obverse, but this carries only limited weight. Both sides contain four letters in the formation of a cruciform, though they are unconnected and hence not monograms. Reading both sides counter-clockwise from the left, the obverse reads Dorotheos, the reverse Aaron. The obverse could also be read as Θεοδώρου.
