Anonymous (twelfth century, second half)
Obverse
The Transfiguration: Christ at the center, flanked by two figures, Moses and Elias, with two disciples below, one kneeling at the left and one prostrate at the lower center, a third would have appeared at the lower right but has been effaced; remains of an inscription at far left and right. Border of dots.
Reverse
Three standing military saints, each holding a lance with the right hand and supporting a shield on the ground with the left; border of dots. Only a few traces of inscriptions remain. The central figure is beardless and could be Demetrios. The close-cropped hair is like that traditionally associated with Demetrios. The left figure may also be beardless and could be George. Part of an inscription remains at the left to identify him as such. The figure at the right is bearded and part of the inscription at the right identifies him as Theodore. Inscription at left: Ε̣|Ω̣ : [ὁ ἅ(γιος) Γ]εώ(γιος). Inscription at left of central figure: ̣ : ὁ ἅ(γιος) [Δημήτριος]. Inscription at right: Ε̣|Ο̣ : [ὁ ἅ(γιος) Θ]εό(δωρος)
