Commentary

The obverse monogram is difficult to decipher, as it seems to be in Latin, though there is no "S" for Stephen present (though there is a Σ), as Zacos suggests (on the similar obverse, BZS.1955.1.53, i.e.d Zacos-Veglery, no. 499). This likely indicates that this is not a monogram of Stephen at all, but a Latinized Νικήτας: Nicetae, though this name does not account for the seemingly present F.

The reverse monogram is seemingly Latin as well (e.g. the d on the left terminus of the cruciform), though is without resolution. It is an "n" short of diakonu.
