Commentary
Euthymios began his ecclesiastical career as a monk. Before 1385 he became a hieromonk and by 1396 was archimandrite of the Stoudios monastery (Janin, Églises, 433), the sanctuary where his remains were buried. See PLP 3, no. 6268.
