Translation

Θεοτόκε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Λέοντι ὑπάτῳ καὶ κωμερκιαρίῳ Χαλδείας.

Mother of God, help your servant Leo, hypatos and kommerkiarios of Chaldia.

Commentary

The reading of this seal has been restored on the basis of the better preserved BZS.1955.1.1003 and BZS.1955.1.1004 which come from the same boulloterion. BZS.1955.1.1006 is similar in date, but comes from a different boulloterion.
