Lord/Theotokos, help your servant Euthymios imperial protospatharios and paraphylax.

Commentary

The resolution of the reverse inscription is tentative and problematic. The first letters on the second line, ος, suggest a name ending in the nominative (or, for some names, the genitive, as in Λέοντος). The visible traces of letters on the first line suggest the name Euthymios, which is proposed here. The final word seems to be an internally abbreviated form of παραφυλάκης, in the genitive, but this is not certain.
