Commentary
Although the design of this seal differs from others employed by Artavasdos, the combination of name, titles, dating, and the spelling of kourapalates (closer to the Latin than the later kouropalates, and used by other seals in this group; see commentary at Oikonomides, Dated Seals, no. 32) argue in favor of attributing all these seals to the same individual.
