Commentary
The letter Δ (line 1, rev.) is clearly imprinted, and hene there can be no confusion between our seal and a similar specimen bearing the inscription: Θεοφίλῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαροκανδιδάτῳ καὶ πρωτονοταρίῳ τῶν Ἀνατολικῶν (Zacos, Seals II, no. 334). On the contrary the name of the owner could be Theodore, as well as Theoudoulos or Theodosios.
