Translation

γραφὰς σφραγίζω καὶ λόγους Εὐσταθίου πρωτονωβελισίμου τῷ Καμίτζι.

I seal the letters and correspondence of Eustathios Kamytzes, protonobelissimos.

Commentary

The family name is not certain. A Eustathios Kamytzes served as a military official under Alexios I; a seal attributed to him bearing the title protonobelissimos, however, has different iconography than on this specimen (Laurent, Orghidan, no. 97).

The inscription appears to be metrical, at least in intent, but falls one syllable short in the final hemistich. It should probably be included in the corpus of metrical seals assembled by Wassiliou-Seibt.
