Translation

Στεφάνῳ μητροπολίτῃ Κρήτης.

Stephen metropolitan of Crete.

Commentary

According to the synodikon, only one Stephanos became metropolitan of Crete and is attested between 1027 and 1032. We also have another different seal of the same prelate: Laurent, Corpus V/1, no. 621. Cf. SBS 2 (1990) 145, no. 10.
