Commentary
In the Vestnik Drevnei Istorii I (6) (1939), 129, O. F. Višniakova has published a eighth/ninth century seal with an inscribed cruciform monogram and an inscription recording a "Kosmas hypatos and komes of the Chersonese," which in light of this seal should be attributed instead to Hieron.
