Obverse

The archangel Michael holding the sceptre over his right shoulder and a globus in his left hand. Sigla on either side: μχ : Μιχ(αήλ). Along the upper circumference, an inscription:

ρχιστ̣ρ̣τιγ,,

Ἀρχιστράτιγ(ε) β(οήθει)

Reverse

Inscription of three lines beginning and ending with a cross. Fleurons above, and a row of pellets below. Thin wreath border.



Translation

Ἀρχιστράτιγε βοήθει Μιχαὶλ τῷ Παυβλῇ.

Commander of the heavenly host, help Michael Pavles.

Commentary

The reading of the owner's family name is not certain. The engraver seems to have included an extraneous letter and abbreviation.
