Commentary
The omission of the final ν of τῶν, and the fact that no abbreviation sign appears there, may be due to euphonic reasons. The owner's first name could be Ἀσώτης (Ashot) or Παγκράτης (Bagrat); it sounds like a name of Armenian origin. One could also propose [Λέον]τη with a spelling mistake. The seal of another domestikos of the Boukellarioi, of the first half of the eighth century, is published by Zacos-Veglery, no. 1656. See the remarks of Winkelmann, Ämterstruktur, 99, and Haldon, Praetorians, 495, n. 558.
