Translation

Κύριε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Ἰωάννῃ χαρτουλαρίῳ τοῦ γενικοῦ λογοθεσίου ἄρκλας τῆς Θρᾴκις.

Lord, help your servant John chartoularios of the genikon logothesion of th earchive of Thrace.

Commentary

This specimen is from the same boulloterion as its parallel.

On the meaning of the expression χαρτουλάριος τοῦ γενικοῦ λογοθεσίου ἄρκλας τῆς Θρᾴκης, that is, an official entrusted with the fiscal archives of the theme of Thrace, see DO Seals 1, no. 1.4 (BZS 1951.31.5.1892).
