Commentary

Same legend but from a different boulloterion than BZS.1958.106.4160.

The inscription on the reverse has been reconstructed according to Zacos-Veglery, no. 2338a. Moreover, in the eighth century Sicily was the only Byzantine theme whose name started with Σ.

Seals of Prokopios patrikios and strategos of Sicily: Sig., 214 note 2, no. 5, and Borsari, Amministrazione, app. II, nos. 10-11.
