Translation

σφραγὶς Λέοντος ἐκ γένους Σκυλιτζίων εἰς κῦρος τούτου κὲ γραφὰς κὲ πρακτέα.

Seal of Leo, from the line of the Skylitzes, to guarantee his documents and deeds.

Commentary

The inscription consists of two dodecasyllabic verses. Note the form of the family name in the genitive plural which supplies the syllable needed for the metrical verse.
