Translation

Lord, help your servant Theodore, imperial protospatharios epi tou Chrysotriklinou and strategos of Hellas.

Commentary

The seals published by Kissas have the same obverse decoration as our own (repeating some minute but characteristic details, such as the odd abbreviation sign at the end of the saint's name), are imprinted with the same name and titles, and date from the same period as our own: they quite likely attest one and the same person. The Thessalonica specimens end with the word ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, followed by decoration, a pellet with a bar on either side.
