Translation

Τοῦ Τζιρίθωνος Γαβριὴλ κριτοῦ Θρᾴκης.

(Seal of) Gabriel Tzirithon, judge of Thrace.

Commentary

The inscription is a twelve-syllable verse. Laurent, Bulles métriques, no. 530, republished, with corrections, a seal previously edited by Schlumberger: τοῦ Τζιρίθωνος Γαβριὴλ κριτοῦ σφραγίς. One suspects that the reading of the final word should be emended to Θρᾴκης. Gabriel Tzirithon, a dishypatos, was judge of Thrace shortly before 1075: Catalogue des mss. alchimiques grecs 6 (1928) 196. Members of this family are listed by Laurent in EO 30 (1931) 476-77; cf. Hellenika 9 (1936) 21-25.
