St John the Baptist standing, holding a staff cross with his right hand and making a gesture with his left. Details indistinct. Inscription on either side: ο|α|γι|ο̣σιω̅|οΠρ|οσ : ὁ ἅγιος Ἰω(άννης) ὁ Πρ(ό)δρομος. Border of dots.

Translation

φωνὴν κηρύττων τῷ τροχῷ τῆς σφραγῖδος Ἰωάννην σκέποις με Ταρχανειώτην.

Commentary

Note the unusual ligature on the right hand side of the obverse.
