Commentary
This specimen and BZS.1951.31.5.276 are from the same boulloterion; the reading of this seal is restored with reference to the parallel linked to this entry.
A Philaretos of Euchaita was synkellos by the middle of the tenth century (Darrouzès, Épistoliers, 73; cf. Zacos, Seals II, no. 874). He is probably identical to the owner of the present seal, which will have been issued shortly before this time. Cf. the comments in Laurent's edition.
