Lord, help your servant Katakalon ..., protospatharios.

Commentary

The poor state of preservation and the poor quality of the lettering make the final two lines very difficult to read. They appear to record the owner's family name but it is by no means clear what the correct reading is.

Note the letters scratched on the surface of the obverse.
