Bust of Christ Emmanuel holding the Gospel. Epigraphy visible on either side: Ισ̅χσ̅ : Ἰ(ησοῦ)ς Χ(ριστό)ς. Traces of an inscription along the circumference at right: Νουηλ : [ὁ Ἐμμα]νουήλ. Border of dots.

Commentary

The presentation of a bearded emperor suggests Constantine VIII (1025-1028); an emperor holding the cross could also be Constantine IX Monomachos (1042-1055).
