Translation

γραφὴν παριστᾷ Μαρίας προεδρίσσης.

(The seal) presents the letter of Maria the proedrissa.

Commentary

The proedrissa Maria (of Bulgarian origin, born before 1045 and deceased about 1077) was the wife of Andronikos Doukas. She adopted her husband's current title of proedros for use on her seal. See Polemis, Doukai, no. 58.
