Commentary
This person may well be the Constantine Promoundenos attested on two seals in the Hermitage (see Šandrovskaja, Sfragistika, nos. 712, 713). The first proclaims him magistros, vestes, judge of the Velum and of the Thrkesioi; the second, vestarches, judge of the Velum and of the Armeniakoi. See also Seibt, Bleisiegel, 303, note 10, where he notes another seal of Constantine Promoundenos, βεστάρχης, κριτὴς τοῦ βήλου καὶ τῶν Ἀνατολικῶν. A Constantine Promoundenos was hypatos and imperial notarios of the sakelle in 1088 (Patmos I, no. 49B, line 291).
