Translation

Γεωργίου πατρικίου καὶ Θεοφυλάκτου γενικῶν κομμερκιαρίων ἀποθήκης Παφλαγονίας καὶ Ὡνορ[ιά]δος.

George patrikios and Theophylaktos, general kommerkiarioi of the apotheke of Paphlagonia and Honorias.

Commentary

Zacos and Veglery securely dated the seal but misread the last word as Ἰωνοπόλεος, whereas the reading “Honorias” is based on traces of the surviving letters and makes more sense. The two associates, George the patrikios and Theophylaktos, were busy in farming out state businesses during Justinian II's first reign, only to disappear before reappearing in 705/6, during the second reign of their protector. See Zacos–Veglery, 150, table 6/2.
