Translation

Θεοτόκε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Ἰωάννῃ κουροπαλάτι τῷ Κομνηνῷ.

Mother of God, help your servant John Komnenos, kouropalates.

Commentary

The owner of this seal is the brother of the emperor Isaac I Komnenos who was promoted to kouropalates upon Isaac's accession in September of 1057; he held this rank until his death in 1067.
