At the top of the terraced seats of the Pool Theater is a trellis designed by Farrand in 1926. The interlaced wood provides both a structure for vines, and a support for wisteria to bloom, a highlight in the garden. The slats in the trellis allow a viewer to peer down into Lovers’ Lane Pool from above, while its looming form from inside the theater shrouds the garden in a veil of sheltered intimacy.
