Iron Railing

Iron Railing

Designed by Ruth Havey for the terminus of the vista, the iron rail is one of many ironwork ornaments featured in the North Vista. Its elaborate curls are reminiscent of the scroll motifs present throughout Dumbarton Oaks, and the Bliss family shield of a sheaf of wheat is featured prominently in its design.
