The consoles between the brick wall and the house are a prime example of the intention to create harmony and connection between the architectural elements of the North Vista and architecture of the house. Farrand’s approach to design was to create seamless transitions. The scroll and plant motifs are similar to those in the end of the balustrade from the 1930s, and their sloping form give the ornaments a naturalistic appearance.
