Stover informs her that the Gerarde's Herball is sold and the Humphry Repton book, Observations on the theory and practice of landscape gardening, is not what Beatrix Farrand advises buying. Isabelle M. Stover directs Anne Sweeney to have Dorothy St. John Manks send the bill for books purchased to Reef Point, Bar Harbor, Maine. She comments that Spring has finally arrived, but still cold.
