Commentary
This seal comes from the same boulloterion as BZS.1951.31.5.1313. Another, BZS.1951.31.5.867, seems to come from a later boulloterion of the same metropolitan but this must have been used after the owner’s death by the personnel of the metropolis, who had to erase the name of the deceased prelate. Similar instances of anonymous seals of metropolitans are mentioned in N. Oikonomides, “The Anonymous Seal,” SBS 4 (1995) 77 ff.
The inscription forms one twelve-syllable verse.
